Eastleigh Swim Club is a well-established and friendly club based at Places Leisure in Eastleigh with additional sessions run at Oaklands Community Pool in Southampton. We are SwimMark accredited and operate an integrated development programme which starts with our Swim School and produces swimmers who have competed at County, Regional and National level. Our Masters programme, successfully running for a year, is one of the club's newest exciting developments. With 18 active swimmers, we are keen to further integrate this group into the club’s activities, building on their recent participation in our club championships and aiming for county/national competitions in the future.
Assistant Head Coach
Our club is looking for an ambitious and committed person to assist our Head Coach in leading the team, and in return offers a genuine opportunity for the right candidate to play a major role in shaping its future.
We are looking for someone with these 5 key attributes:
- Comfortable working collaboratively with swimmers, parents, coaches and the committee to promote a positive and inclusive environment which reflects the club’s culture and ethos.
- Able to work effectively with our Head Coach to ensure the club's strategy is implemented, helping all our swimmers to maximise their potential.
- Confident in providing both leadership and support to our team of dedicated coaches and teachers.
- Able to adapt their approach to successfully engage with swimmers of varying abilities and aspirations.
- Keen to inspire through their enthusiasm.
The role is part-time and will include morning and evening training sessions. It will also involve attending open meets and county/regional weekends. However, we’re a pragmatic club and flexible in our approach, so we can likely accommodate your working patterns.
The successful candidate will at minimum hold an ASA Level 2 Coaching Award or the Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate. You will either already be an Assistant Head Coach at another club or be able to demonstrate that you have sufficient experience to step up into the role.
We offer a competitive rate of pay which is dependent on experience and are looking to move quickly with this appointment. We will be scheduling initial interviews for the beginning of January, with the successful candidate ideally able to join us shortly after.

Swimming Coach
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Swimming Coach to work within our squad structure and be a part of our Eastleigh family. Hours may include evenings, early mornings and weekend attendance at competitions throughout the year as appropriate. You must be a team player, diligent in your coaching and have a keen willingness to learn. Coaches must hold a Level 2 Swim Coaching qualification (or equivalent), or be Level 1 working towards Level 2, have a clear DBS check (completed by the club) and be able to travel locally to the facilities we use in our nearby area.
The successful candidate will:
- Work with a highly experienced and qualified team of coaches across a range of squads within our overall club structure.
- Have a Swim England / UKCC Level 1/2 Coaching Swimming Qualification (or equivalent), or higher, with evidence of undertaking CPD.
- Hold a current and valid UK driving licence.
- Have experience of coaching swimmers of all ages, including youth swimmers.
- Be confident working and communicating with a wide range of people from the swimming community.
- Be highly motivated and passionate about developing swimmers as people as well as athletes and enabling them to reach their full potential.
- Be willing to cover other coaches periodically.

We are looking to expand our successful Swim School by recruiting new Level 2 Swimming Teachers. Lessons are spread between Places Leisure Eastleigh and Oaklands Community Pool, Southampton.

Can you help our swimmers achieve their goals?
Here at Eastleigh Swim Club, we are always delighted to hear from motivated individuals who share our passion for swimming.
We currently have swimmers at all levels within the club, from Learn2Swim through to National Finalists and Medallists.
If you are a qualified Swimming Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach (with an understanding of swimmers' land training needs) or Physio who can aid with injury prevention/core strengthening and rehabilitation, please feel free to drop us a line to register your interest in our club.
We also welcome contact from Sport and Fitness Students, particularly if they can, within their own course studies, assist our swimmers with land-side support, nutritional advice and training needs.
Additionally, we are intrigued to explore the benefits of using Pilates or Yoga (even clinical) within our land training programme. If this is something you could assist us with, please feel free to get in touch.
