Masters at Eastleigh Swim Club

Whether you’re a lifelong swimmer, a former club swimmer returning to the pool, or someone who’s discovered swimming later in life, our Masters community is a great place to train, socialise, and feel part of something.
We’re a welcoming group of adult swimmers with a wide mix of ages, backgrounds, and goals. Some of us compete regularly (including at a high level alongside county-standard competition swimmers), while others are here to keep fit, improve technique, and enjoy the routine. Whatever brings you to the pool, you’ll fit in.

Training that fits real life (mostly…)
Most of our Masters sessions are in the mornings, but you don’t need to be a morning person to join… you’ll probably turn into one once you’re in the routine.
Sessions are structured, coached, and designed to suit a range of abilities. You’ll find:
-
technique work to improve efficiency (and speed, without simply working harder)
-
fitness and pacing sets that scale to your level
-
supportive lanes where swimmers encourage each other
-
space for both confidence-building and performance-focused training
Masters squads and timetable
We offer several Masters squads so you can find the right fit for your ability, goals, and availability. You can read more about each squad below, and view the current timetable before booking your trial.
Membership options and pathways
We have lots of ways to be involved, depending on what you want from swimming:
-
swimmers attending twice a week
-
those training more frequently for consistency and fitness
-
and those aligned to Performance Squad training for higher volume and competition-focused development
Many people start with a couple of sessions and build from there once they’ve found their rhythm.
Competitions (if you fancy it)
Competition is optional, but it’s a big part of the fun for many of us, and we support each other whether you’re racing for medals or just having a go.
We're off to the Isle of Wight (IoW) masters competition on 7th February, where a team of five Masters swimmers will travel over on the Ferry and do some relays and some fun events, including the 25m freestyle. Meets like this are a brilliant mix of racing, team spirit, and making a day of it.
Socials and community
Masters isn’t just about what happens in the lane. We organise regular socials and genuinely enjoy spending time together outside training. That might include:
-
evening socials
-
festive meals
-
mini golf
-
breakfast mornings
-
pub quizzes
-
birthday celebrations
-
beach trips and sea swims when the weather behaves (and sometimes when it doesn’t)
We also have a Masters Strava group, which is a fun way to stay connected, share swims (and other training), and celebrate each other’s efforts.
Book a free trial
You can book a free trial session, and one of us will meet you poolside at 05:30 on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or 6am Saturday morning. We prefer to meet new swimmers on a Wednesday, but we’ll do our best to accommodate what works for you.
You’re welcome to try Masters up to three times before committing to join, so you can get a proper feel for the coaching, the lanes, and the group.
To book your trial or join:
Come and give it a go, we’ll see you on poolside at 05:30 (and yes, the early mornings really do get easier)!
