Over the weekend a team of 26 swimmers took part in the James Moreno meet hosted by City of Southampton Swim Club. With 13 clubs attending, it was a packed meet. Some races had up to 17 heats, which signals we are at the start of the short run into swimmers achieving County qualification times. It was also great to see a meet a lot like the kind we would have seen pre-pandemic, with lots of supporters cheering in the stands and making lots of noise for the competitors.

The weekend saw 109 swims from Eastleigh. Of these, 53 were PBs. Amongst these swims we had a fair few swimmers trying out new races for the first time and medalling! Well done to those swimmers that stepped up and took on new challenges. The total medal haul was 55 for the club, which breaks down as Gold 19, Silver 16, Bronze 20.

Medals went to Adam, Bobby, Emily B, Ffion E, Danny, Emily R, Evie, Emily S, Will S, Ellis, Hamza, George M, Ffion M, Jennifer J, Rhyseren, Sammy and Tudor.

There were so many stand out swims, but special mention must go to Jennifer for taking on the 400m Individual Medley and smashing 37.67 seconds off her PB, which is a Herculean effort!! Evie had a phenomenal PB in her 100m Freestyle dropping 12.43 seconds. Freya, Ellis, and Emily from the junior half of the club were amazing trying out many new races and medalling!

Thank you to our coaches Matt and Mandy, our Team Managers Adrian, Gail T, Gayle S, Tanya and Julie. Thank you also to Callum, Polly and Lianne for officiating.
