Scottish Summer Silver
13 Jul 2019
With a fantastic time of 19:51.23, breaking the 20 minute barrier for the first time, Verity won the silver medal in the girls' 1500m freestyle at the Scottish Summer Meet in the Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh last weekend.
The medal was presented by two of Scotland's top international swimmers, Olympic silver medallist and World Champion, Stephen Milne, and Commonwealth and World Championship finalist, Craig McNally. We hope they both took the opportunity to get Verity's autograph.
Verity also competed in the 800m freestyle, just missing out on bronze by a fingernail and finishing in an excellent fourth place with a time of 10:24.66, a new personal best by 12 seconds.
Excellent swims and what a great achievement by Verity.
Eastleigh Swim Club Masters swimmer Kate Steels has taken on one of her most ambitious challenges yet – completing a 21.5km swim from Baltimore to Fastnet Rock in Ireland, with hopes of setting a new ladies' record.

We are thrilled to share that our team captain, Alana Maddock, has officially qualified for this year’s Summer Nationals.
