Arena League Round 2 Report
10 Nov 2019
On Saturday evening, our Performance Squad swimmers took part in the second round of the Arena League, which Eastleigh hosted in Waterlooville rather than our usual home venue in Eastleigh.
In an exciting contest that was neck and neck between Eastleigh and Farnham SC right up to the final few races, Farnham ultimately came out on top with Eastleigh taking a close second place.
The top swims of the evening came from the boys 15/under relay team of Frank, Fraser, Oliver and Ethan and the girls 13/under relay team of Issy, Rhyseren, Maisie, Phoebe and Evie, both of who smashed the club records in both the medley and freestyle relays. The boys 13/under team of Harry, Max, Freddie and Nathan also lowered their own club record in the medley relay.
In the individual events, the swimmers who won top points for the team by winning their events were: Max (breaststroke and freestyle), Issy (backstroke and freestyle), Fraser (backstroke), Rhyseren (butterfly), Freddie (butterfly), Alana (freestyle) and Adam (freestyle).
The final standings for the event were:
| Club | Gala Place | League Points | Gala Points |
| Farnham | 1st | 6 | 222 |
| Eastleigh | 2nd | 5 | 211 |
| Rushmoor Royals B | 3rd | 4 | 191 |

Eastleigh Swim Club Masters swimmer Kate Steels has taken on one of her most ambitious challenges yet – completing a 21.5km swim from Baltimore to Fastnet Rock in Ireland, with hopes of setting a new ladies' record.
