County Team Championship Results

Congratulations to George and Issy who swam for the Hampshire County Swim Team in last weekends County Team Championships in Sheffield. What an atmosphere there was in the Ponds Forge arena - face paint, fancy dress and decoration from all the teams!
George was selected for the boys 16/17 years Medley Relay team. The team finished in an excellent 5th place, gaining 15 points for Hampshire and beating the eventual winners of the division, Swim Wales West, into 6th place, with a lightning fast time of 1:48.06.
Issy competed in the girls 12/13 years 100m backstroke. Sensationally, she smashed over a second off her own Eastleigh club record with a time of 1:07.48, winning the event and gaining a full 20 points for Hampshire.
Overall, Hampshire finished in joint sixth position in Division 2, level with Dorset on 425 points. With the top four teams winning promotion to Division 1 for next year's contest, sadly Hampshire just missed out on this occasion.
