Congratulations to all our competitors that participated in last weekend's Peter Bull Open Meet in Waterlooville. Continuing our recent run of Personal Bests and County Championship qualifiers, the swimmers managed a magnificent 80 PBs and 21 County qualification times, plus 39 medals, from 119 swims.

The Peter Bull meet is open to swimmers aged 14 and under and it was a great opportunity for our younger swimmers to make their mark. They didn't disappoint!

Well done in particular to our swimmers from the Junior 3 and Junior 2 squads: Will, Eve, Harriet, Eilidh, Jennifer, Keir and Elliot, who recorded 19 new Personal Bests from 24 swims. All of these Junior swimmers achieved at least one new PB and some of the swimmers smashed up to 17 seconds off their previous best times. Elliot also managed to win gold in the boys 9/under 100m breaststroke and silver in the 50m freestyle and Keir just missed out on a medal with an excellent 4th place in the 200m freestyle. It was great to see the Junior swimmers mixing and learning from their more experienced teammates and loudly cheering encouragement for each other from the end of the pool.

Our Junior Performance Squad was well represented and the youngest swimmers in that squad featured heavily in the medal table. In the girls 10 years age group, Megan took gold in all four of her events and Ella won three silvers and two bronze medals, and in the boys events Ethan did well to win a silver and two bronzes. In the 11 years age category, brother and sister, Ollie and Isla, won a haul of one gold, one silver and four bronze medals between them, plus six PBs. Despite feeling under the weather, Ffion won her first ever gold medal with a great swim in the girls 100m butterfly and was within a fingernail of medals in the 50m butterfly and 100m IM. Jess swam well to take 4th place in the 100m breaststroke and Lolah took a good 5th place in the 50m backstroke. Jorja, Emily, Maisie, Zoha, Sebastian and Rosie all smashed multiple personal bests, with Seb's 14 second PB on 200m backstroke and Jorja's 13 second PB on 200m freestyle really excellent swims.

From the Age Group Performance and Senior Squad we had a smaller number of competitors, but they still returned with a host of medals and PBs. Top of the medallists was Alex in the boys 14 years age group. From seven swims, Alex won six golds and one bronze and broke his PB in every race, his 100m freestyle (1:03) and 200m freestyle (2:18) swim being real highlights. In the 14 years girls, Freya took two silvers and two bronze medals from six swims. Rhyseren and Verity had a 1-2 finish in the 13 years 200m freestyle, both setting new PBs, and Rhyseren also took gold in 50m butterfly, 200m backstroke and silver in 50m freestyle. Pippa swam well to set a new PB in 100m backstroke, as did Anya in her 50m freestyle.
